Y'know what kinda sucks...?

...starting DA from scratch. Seeing the success that I had back in high school because of all of the fan art that I have on this account is inspiring. Truly <3. But I find it frustrating and confusing when I post original content, original stories on my other account, and they just don't seem to stick.
Is fan art the only way to garner fans? Is it the only way to get people to pay attention to the creations that are closest to your heart? I know it definitely connects you with people because you share similar interests, but it's odd...deep down in my heart of hearts, all I want to do is create what's closest to my heart and what I really want to dedicate myself to, which are my own stories. I don't want to have to draw fan art just in order to bring more people closer to me--that doesn't feel right.
I'm hoping that in time, with or without fan art's aid, I'll be able to experience the success like I had back in those high school days where I had over 10 comments on each of my comic pages, where I open my inbox and have a crap-ton of notifications. I'm excited to have an audience again <3.

I'm literally posting this thing all over the place XD, but it's because I freakin' love it. Unfortunately it hasn't gotten into the midst of all of the excitement...YET. It'll be getting there soon

I'm SUPER tempted to have it update twice a week, BUT...I'm currently freelancing three different projects AND looking for full-time work in the process. Hello everyone! Ali here. I know how boring journal entries are to read, especially if it's from someone like me who isn't on DeviantArt very often anymore (so I lose a lot of connection with you guys), but I would really appreciate it if you took a minute to read this journal entry : ). (If you're not interested in reading all of this, jump down to the IMPORTANT section .)
So! As some of you know, I've been on and off drawing the Kingdom Hearts Roleplay comics and haven't really drawn them at all as of late, mostly because of a lack of motivation and inspiration to do them, and partly because school and work have really taken over most of my time. The times that I'm not at school and not working, I'm working on homework for school. I'm really learning a lot though and I'm really excited to incorporate what I'm learning into the art that I produce <3.
So, I apologize for not really drawing that comic or drawing/updating a whole lot of things anymore.
BUT!! I am still uploading art and pictures to my other account on a more frequent basis, and you can find that account here>>
In other news, I've almost finished another four to five songs for my next EP, which I'm hoping to release once summer starts up. It just depends on how much time it takes to record vocals and mix the songs with my dad, who's busy as a university professor. I'm also almost finished recording my AXIS music video and plan for the video to be completed sometime in April. I was planning for it to be finished in December, but I had a really bad bout of acne pollute my face and there was no way I could record the video with the condition that my skin was in. Luckily, it's healing up fast though.

And lastly, I revisited a story that I wrote a couple of years ago before I really was deep into school and I re-fell in love with the story and the characters. I think there are parts of the story I might end up editing or improving, but I really love the story and have been itching to put it into comic book form. I think that starting this summer I'm going to commit to drawing one comic page or more per week and uploading one page per week. That's a goal that I really want to set for myself <3!! So, instead of continuing with the Kingdom Hearts Roleplay comics, I'm going to be dedicating myself to telling this new story that is completely my own and is practically finished. I WILL NOT BE POSTING THOSE COMIC PAGES TO THIS DEVIANTART ACCOUNT. I WILL BE POSTING THEM TO MY AxisOfficial ACCOUNT. If you're interested in reading this story once summer hits, I recommend you follow that account instead of this one.

Time Lapse Drawings...

Hello everybody! I hope that you're all having a wonderful Christmas break, and if not, then I hope that things are going smoothly for you anyway!
I have some random stuff that I wanted to share with you
. Lately, I've been making these time lapse drawing videos and posting them on YouTube and my Facebook page and thought that I would share them with you in case you want to see how I draw things digitally. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to do this with traditional drawings yet, but I was able to find a way to do digital drawings.

And I would use other music besides the stuff that I've made, but if I try to use any of the other songs that I've purchased, YouTube gets mad, so...yes! I apologize, but you'll have to deal with my music XD.
In other news, fall semester is over and I passed all of my classes! Hallelujah! Now I can just work for the next couple of weeks during Christmas break and hopefully make some extra money to put away for savings or whatnot. This is also random, but I've started watching PewDiePie's videos on YouTube a lot lately and I think he's absolutely hilarious!! I seriously think that watching his videos is giving me a quicker, funnier sense of humor...or just improving my current sense of humor . It's so much fun to watch the videos he's made! I want to be able to make videos like that in the future...not based on playing video games of course, but doing some other thing that I enjoy. I do like playing video games, but not to the extent that he does XD.

Hello everyone! Ali here! So, I just wanted to write a quick journal post apologizing for the fact that I just barely got on DA again after about a year and a half. SO CRAZY! But so much has happened!
I wanted to tell you that I'm hardly updating this page anymore (unless it's Kingdom Hearts comics), so please go to MY NEW PAGE which can be found here>> alexisnaquel.deviantart.com/
Also, I wanted to tell you all that this summer I was able to release my first music album (I've been working on it since last February [2011]), and I'm currently in the middle of producing a music video! Doing music has been one of the funnest things I have ever done and I super enjoy it! If you like Japanese electronica or just electronica, please take a listen and spread the word to others that enjoy that type of music!
